X-Ray
What is an X-Ray?
What is an X-Ray?
An X-Ray is an imaging technique which uses a small amount of ionising radiation to create images of bone and other body structures. X-Rays are effective and safe; our staff take precautions to minimise radiation exposure. The entire procedure usually takes only a couple of minutes and is painless for the patient.
X-Rays are commonly used for detecting bone fractures and injuries, however, are also used for scanning the lungs, chest and other body structures like the heart and abdomen.
What to expect
During an X-Ray, your X-Ray technician will instruct and position your body to create clear images. It is important to stay still while the images are being taken, this will ensure the clearest images.
Following your x-ray, the images are interpreted by our radiologists, and the report is sent to your doctor in a timely matter.
If you would like access to your images and report, please sign up to our Patient Portal.
How much is the ACC surcharge?
